You've heard Doug talk about how contaminated wheat, corn, and other cereal grains are. HERE (Click on the BLUE TEXT to link to the Article) is some third party validation (as if all the Doug-Heads needed it!). This cereal rust, or mold, is wiping out wheat crops in Africa, and is expected to spread.

The horrible part is that many third world countries are heavily dependent upon cereal grains as staples in their diets. We Americans, for the most part, have a choice about whether to include grains in our diet or not. But perhaps this article will increase the public's concern about the contamination of grain supplies everywhere. And maybe we should start using some of that fertile land in the midwest to grow organic fruits and vegetables and raise grass-fed meat instead of rows upon rows of monoculture grain and and corn farms.

There is a grain called Amaranth that seems to be gaining popularity here in the States. Another is Quinoa. Could these be acceptable alternatives to wheat, oats, etc..? The leaves can be cooked and used in salads, soups, etc.. I would like your opinion regarding this.

Since learning about Dr. Simoncini I have been excited about baking soda and the benefits. However, I kept hearing "be careful" about how much baking soda you take, but never with an explanation to be found. I had a check in my conscious about it too. I don't take baking soda often, but this morning I mixed baking soda with vitamin c and I watched it fizz. I did not take it as I wanted to know if anyone else mixed vitamin c with baking soda.So I did a google on mixing baking soda and vitamin c. Don't get me wrong, I am completely for Dr. Simoncini's work, but is he familiar with the hard to find information that baking soda depeletes the body of vitamin c and can cause survey. Those little red like bruises you see on old people are supposedly signs of survey? I saw one on my arm ( I am only 58) and without knowing why, I had not been taking my vitamin C, but yesterday I took 4,000 mg and that little spot is now gone. I also was reminded that 4-10,000 mg. of vitamin C a day does miracles to the body and that includes cancer disappearing. It is strange how we learn about something good for us and then we kind of just not think about it until we read it again. I personally know that the baking soda cure of Dr. Simoncini works because my daughter's mid-wife went to Italy with a breast cancer diagnosis and came back 3 weeks later cured. She did see Dr. Simoncini. But I think it is wise to include all information about baking soda on the www.knowthecause.com and www.cancerisafungus.com web site so people won't use baking soda without wisdom. I do a lot of research, but finding this information did not come with my initial search about baking soda. Also, mixing baking soda with Vitamin C causes carbon dixoide and that is what causes the fizz. The baking soda basically destroyed the absorbic acid. I would imagine that in the evening after taking baking soda to kill a fungus during the day, that taking a large dose of Vitamin c to counter any vitamin c deficiencies would help. However, I would prefer hearing from someone who has more knowledge on the matter of baking soda and vitamin C.

Are you stating that oatmeal, wholewheat bread, yelllow corn, organic flaxseeds, and other grain products aren't good for our health. I have been eating oatmeal every morning for my high cholestrol.

I just started (on Saturday) taking 100g Niacin (with a low dose aspirin) for my high cholesterol, the LDL. Already my blood vessels seem to have settled down quite a bit. I am used to bulging blood vessels in my hands and they have definitely been positively affected by something. Taking the niacin is the only change I have made recently for that to happen. My blood pressure stats have never diverged from normal in my entire life, but I do not know how this fits in with high cholesterol.

Does anyone have a clue whether taking too much Niacin will throw my other B vitamins out of balance. I have heard this is a possibility.

EllenDiann: I think too much baking soda would imbalance the acid required for good digestion in the stomach... it (the stomach) is a certain pH to prepare food for micro-absorption in the intestines. Maybe you should write Simonici for a more specific suggestion. I would also love to hear what he thinks.
